Freeride for Future

That’s what we stand for

As a company in the ski, snowboard and outdoor industry, we are particularly called upon to support and independently implement measures against climate change and the loss of natural habitats. We accept the reality of climate change and want to make our contribution to the sustainable transformation of the economy and society.

We see the Freeride Film Festival (FFF) as a communication platform so that producers, athletes and economic partners can present their activities around sustainability and CO2 neutrality and discuss them with the community. Since a change in behaviour always starts with ourselves, we have launched the Freeride For Future initiative.

Immediate goals at the
Freeride Filmfestival

Tour:

With the Green Event certification of four tour stops as well as further measures during the entire festival, we commit ourselves to an environmentally friendly and socially responsible approach during the staging.

Films:

  • Preference for films that do not use artificial ascending aids for freeriding.
  • Support for the independent film scene in the Alpine region
  • Preference for films with critical content on climate, economic and social change

Partner:

  • Search for industry partners that have a clear path to sustainable or green business practices and meet internationally recognised sustainability criteria in purchasing, production and sales.
  • Supporting NGOs from the freeride sector, e.g. POW (Protect Our Winters)

Our main goal with
Freeride For Future

We want to convince companies and individuals to commit to responsible behaviour, to follow a clear path towards sustainable or green business practices, and to promote and implement necessary changes.

As a partner of the “Green Events Austria” initiative of the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism, we place particular emphasis on sustainability and responsibility towards the environment and people when organising our event. We therefore take appropriate measures in the areas of mobility, catering, resource management and waste management. We invite you to support us in these efforts.

General
goals

Environmental protection in winter sports:

A considerate approach to and with nature when skiing and snowboarding should always be a top priority. In the long term, this also means

  • a moratorium on heli-skiing
  • a halt to new ski area developments and expansions

Mobility in winter sports:

Flights to the snow should become a “no-go”. Public transport, carpooling and cycling are preferable to individual car transport.

Sustainability in consumption:

We want to create awareness for the essentials and show the value of regional products and services – with initiatives like #buylocal.
