The feeling of not being able to plan all factors 100%, the uncertainty, the residual risk, excites them again and again to go to their limit, to the limits of being or not being. Hanno Mackowitz provides a fascinating insight into the spectacular freeride world and the nevertheless “normal” everyday life of the two extreme athletes. In doing so, however, he poses the perennial question: “Why does someone take such a risk when they know their family is waiting for them at home?”
