From freeride hero to organic farmer

Chris Rubens was living his absolute dream. As a freeride pro, he jetted around the globe – always on the move with large production crews, heliskiing, and chasing the big lines. On an expedition to Greenland, a climate researcher accompanies the team to alleviate their guilt of burning fossil fuels to ski there. It was during the tour of this movie that Chris decided he needed to change more than just making a movie about climate change.

The Canadian freeride star gradually reduces his footprint – even if it means jeopardizing his career. Chris gives up flights, changes his diet and eventually becomes an organic farmer. What he gains from this is not only a more sustainable life but also a stronger connection to the community and the mountains in his home region of Revelstoke. As a new father, he wants to double down on his effort to help bring his son Huxley into the best world possible.
