The Partners on our Side

The Freeride Film Festival would be nothing without our partners. Here we introduce you to these great brands.

#enjoyyourwild

The company ABS PROTECTION GMBH specialises in the production of innovative safety equipment and supports mountain sports enthusiasts in realising inspiring experiences in nature. As early as 1985, ABS developed the first avalanche backpack and is considered the inventor of this groundbreaking product for the protection of winter athletes. Since then, the company has pioneered safety equipment for snow sports enthusiasts. In 2021, ABS is setting itself new goals: The brand sees itself as a holistic partner for responsible mountain adventurers. This can be experienced through new product features, an expanded product portfolio and comprehensive digital service for mountain athletes.

#betterforever

Sustainable fashionable functional clothing – this is what PYUA has stood for since its founding in 2008. “Infinite Joy in nature” is both the drive and the inspiration. That’s why all products are consistently made from sustainable and recyclable materials to further advance the vision of a closed cycle. Since sustainability also means using products for a long time and in a variety of ways, a modern, clean design and a variety of uses have also become the hallmarks of PYUA clothing.

The Freeride Experience

Zur Partner-Website

#ridewithaguide

Skiing on the slopes is too boring for you? Are you looking for a sporting challenge and nature? Then experience skiing “off piste”. The Freeride Experience brings you closer to skiing in open terrain without difficult ascents. You will get to know unique slopes with lonely descents that only a few “locals” know about.

A local and certified ski guide is always at your side. The Freeride Experience Spots 2021/22 are the Arlberg, the Salzburg Alps, Andermatt and Engelberg in Switzerland and, at the beginning of the season, the Vinschgau in South Tyrol. It all starts with the Freeride Safety Days from 26-28.11.2021.

The name Ranger not only reflects the limitless range of use throughout the mountain, but also our independence as an Austrian family business that has been privately owned since 1924.

Our athletes, who are constantly involved in the development of the latest models, are also enthusiastic:

“The skis are exceptionally good and qualitative; I ski most models and I like and have fun in all different variants.” (Sverre Liliequist)

Kitzsteinhorn

Zur Partner-Website

And eternally the glacier beckons: Freeride hotspot Kitzsteinhorn

The Kitzsteinhorn is famous for its deep snow slopes. Freeriders appreciate not only the powder snow, but also the five signposted routes: The “Freeride Info Base” and the “Info Points” at the start of the routes provide important tips on safety in the terrain and inform about the current avalanche warning level. Workshops for beginners and advanced skiers are offered at “Freeride Monday”.

Zell am See-Kaprun

Zur Partner-Website

Sitting still on your winter holiday in Zell am See-Kaprun? No way!

More than 408 kilometres of pistes including the glacier ski area with the Ski ALPIN CARD – including spectacular panoramic runs with a view of the lake -, freeride routes close to the lifts, world-class snow parks, fun slopes and a huge range of activities off the slopes leave no doubt that winter is simply ideal for getting some exercise in the fresh mountain air. Between glacier, mountain and lake, simply everyone – from the pleasurable walker to the freeride crack – will find exactly the right offer.

Four freeride areas around Innsbruck provide powder fans with untracked slopes and powder snow. They make Innsbruck a freeride city. Freeriders swarm from Innsbruck and test a different freeride paradise every day. A day in the snow is followed by a night “on the slopes”. The nightlife in the student city of Innsbruck leaves nothing to be desired. Partying after the downhill run – the ideal way to end the day.

THE BIG 5

For freeriders, Engelberg is what Hawaii is for wave riders. Whether the world-famous Laub, the challenging Sulz, the mysterious Steintäli, the Steinberg or the long descent from the Galtiberg – the BIG 5 of Engelberg inspire! You can reach all five downhill runs without taking off your skis or walking once. For a carefree day in the powder snow, we recommend trained mountain guides or ski instructors, who also offer the Titlis circumnavigation as a special highlight

risk’n’fun FREERIDE

Zur Partner-Website

For more than 20 years, risk’n’fun FREERIDE has been offering four training levels that build on each other in order to accompany freeriders on their way from powder runs in terrain close to the slopes to high alpine ventures. “Perceive – assess – decide” is the guiding principle in order to provide snowboarders and skiers with the necessary skills and technical know-how to make good decisions in the terrain. The aim is to expand the radius of action of each individual with a well-founded education, and at the same time to develop a feeling for good handling of oneself, the crew with which one is on the move, and also the mountain world in which one is moving.

Passion and motivation for being outdoors have been the common denominator for all those who take part in risk’n’fun FREERIDE and BIKE for many years. Check www.risk-fun.com for all further information and the training dates for the coming season.
