As early as 1985, ABS developed the first avalanche backpack and is considered the inventor of this groundbreaking product for the protection of winter athletes. Since then, the company has pioneered safety equipment for snow sports enthusiasts. In 2021, ABS is setting itself new goals: The brand sees itself as a holistic partner for responsible mountain adventurers. The Freeride Experience brings you closer to skiing in open terrain without difficult ascents. You will get to know unique slopes with lonely descents that only a few “locals” know about.

A local and certified ski guide is always at your side. The Freeride Experience Spots 2021/22 are the Arlberg, the Salzburg Alps, Andermatt and Engelberg in Switzerland and, at the beginning of the season, the Vinschgau in South Tyrol. It all starts with the Freeride Safety Days from 26-28.11.2021.

Kitzsteinhorn

And eternally the glacier beckons: Freeride hotspot Kitzsteinhorn

The Kitzsteinhorn is famous for its deep snow slopes. Freeriders appreciate not only the powder snow, but also the five signposted routes: The “Freeride Info Base” and the “Info Points” at the start of the routes provide important tips on safety in the terrain and inform about the current avalanche warning level. Workshops for beginners and advanced skiers are offered at “Freeride Monday”.

risk’n’fun FREERIDE

For more than 20 years, risk’n’fun FREERIDE has been offering four training levels that build on each other in order to accompany freeriders on their way from powder runs in terrain close to the slopes to high alpine ventures. “Perceive – assess – decide” is the guiding principle in order to provide snowboarders and skiers with the necessary skills and technical know-how to make good decisions in the terrain. The aim is to expand the radius of action of each individual with a well-founded education, and at the same time to develop a feeling for good handling of oneself, the crew with which one is on the move, and also the mountain world in which one is moving.
